Bali Aga was honored to be a part of Polynesian voyaging canoe Hokulea’s worldwide journey.
On July 31, 2015 the Hōkūle’a marked a historical event, not only by landing on the shores of Bali, but also marking the canoes first time leaving the Pacific Ocean during it’s around the world tour.
The voyage motto Mālama Honua, meaning to “care for our earth,” mirrors our company mission statement which ensures the materials imported are accountable, certified and/or recycled. Our company was honored to be a small part of a voyage that embodies the essence of our beliefs.
The experience and events that took place not only allowed us to welcome the crew to the Island of the Gods, but it also enabled us to show our kōkua to the Polynesian Voyaging Society by assisting them in making their stay a little more comfortable and enjoyable in Bali.
Our deepest respect goes to all Hōkūle’a crew members. Their commitment to a sustainable future during the journey is an example of Hawaiian culture and ambassadorship to the world.
Bali Aga would like to say thank you to the Hōkūle’a and its crew for allowing us to be a part of this incredible Hawaiian Renaissance.
As the Hōkūle’a continues the next leg of the worldwide voyage towards Mauritius and Madagascar, we wish them “Pomaika’i” (luck and fortune) in their journey.
Nainoa Thompson could not have said it better and more articulate as he did in the shores of Bali upon his arrival in Sanur, “One Ocean, One Planet, One People!”
